La vita e bella

Citizen, employe, student, friend, volunteer, youth worker and so on. Nowadays, in a world full of wonderful things that fight with so many problems, it is hard to decide what you want to be in life.

I.T.Y.I project was a perfect reminder of all this. In life, all we need to be is happy, involved and ready to make a change. As youths, our responsibility is to observe,be attentive, speak our minds about what needs to be improved or changed and stand up for what is worth fighting for. Another adventure of the members of the PTPI family (called I.T.Y.I project) took place between 26 November and 2 December in Catania, Italy. Six members of the association had the opportunity to participate in the I.T.Y.I project supported by the ERASMUS + program, which included 5 other countries: Spain, Greece, Slovakia, Lithuania and, of course, Italy. Each project is unique and special, as proved by the volunteers' enthusiasm who have returned home happily and with a bag full of memories and unprecedented experiences. Nothing compares to the places and the new people who help you get to know as much as possible about yourself and about what the world means. The project brought together different countries and mentalities, different people who have managed to get acquainted and to share ideas and experiences. The games, created by the project coordinators, have managed to bring volunteers together and make them know each other. They were well received, and all countries have formed a team ready to work together on pre-set themes: youth work mission nowadays, structured dialogue, youth political participation, and digital skills. This project, like all others, was based on the interaction between volunteers; speakers and coordinators helped participants to understand the project's themes and understand the essence of everything. Teamwork and interaction were the keywords in the ITYI project. Besides the project workshops, the volunteers visited the surroundings, discovered the city of Catania, the tourist attractions along with the participants from other countries. The city of Syracuse was another attraction that volunteers were eager to discover with the members of the project. What's the opinion of volunteers? “I communicated well with the persons involved in this project. I talked with almost everyone and in this way I learned how to have a conversation with a complete stranger, from another country, in a different language. It was one of the most beautiful experiences in my life.” Said Iustin Pericica “This project helped me realise the difference I can make in the society.” Said Andrei Patrauceanu
